True Prosperity from God

True prosperity comes from God. The Bible tells us in the book of Proverbs that when God blesses you He adds no sorrow to it. When one becomes prosperous by means other than from God, he has to continuously defend what he has. We can see from lives of people around us how desperate they become in defending their properties, whether it is money in the bank or properties (real estates) or whatever. They are constantly fighting other people to keep their hands off their properties. The bible also tells us there is no honor among thieves.

There are many ways God prospers people. One-way is through "sowing and reaping".

Galatians 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap". This verse tell us that what you sow you will reap. If you sow in cash, you will reap in cash. If you sow in love, you will reap love. If you help pay school fees for a struggling family, God will pay your children's school fee. The verse says, whatever you sow or do, it will be done to you accordingly. That is God's Spiritual Law and it works every time when people apply it by faith.

Luke 6:38 also supports this by saying, "Give, and it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over, they shall give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you measure, it shall be measured to you again".

This is the principle of giving and receiving. But I would like to discuss, what happens when a person gives "more than he is supposed to give".

In 1Kings 8:63, We see King Solomon giving peace offerings of 22,000 oxen, and 120,000 sheep. This is one big sacrifice day. Many animals slaughtered on that day. Killing an animal or even 10 animals is messy enough to say the least, but 142,000 animals, is more than enough to get anyone's attention.

Did God respond to this? Yes He did. He made Solomon the most prosperous man ever to have lived.

Beloveds, when you sow what you "can afford", the reaping is also on the scale of what you "can afford".

On the other hand when you sow "more than what you can afford", the return is always more than what you can handle. Didn't the Lord say that "no warehouse" on this earth is big enough to contain it. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. Flat tires and other needs are not enough to drain it.

Do not be scared to give more than you can afford. Do this full heartedly. Do not give begrudgingly. Give knowing that it will be returned to you, a good measure, shaken together, pressed down and running over. Trust in God that His Word is more than able to fulfilled itself. The Faith to make it work belongs to God. Your part is to "only believe" that it will work. Mark 11:22-24. May God bless us all.
